105-2 Old Testament Survey 4 — Proverbs – Song of Songs (Instr: Professor Richard White) Tuesdays, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
This course focuses on how to apply and teach the wisdom books of the Old Testament, covering Proverbs through the Song of Songs. Topics include apologetics, Biblical worldview, character development, charity, courage, ethics, faith, love, marriage, prophecy, servant-leadership, sex, suffering, trust, virtue, wisdom, and worship. Deals with authorship, date, historical context, literary forms, themes, and applications for preaching. Students will create visual projects and applications for transformational discipleship and leadership.
224 Teaching to Change Lives (Instructor TBD) Mondays, 7:00 – 9:00pm
This course focuses on how to teach using methods that result in life change. Topics include teaching to change lives, the expository text-driven preaching process, the importance of personal development, learning styles, active learning, communication, addressing emotions, creative assignments, and character development. Students will create visual projects and applications for transformational discipleship and leadership.
466-1 Theology of Evil and Suffering (Instr: Professor Rev. Dr. Don Conley) Tuesdays, 7:00 – 9:00pm
This course focuses on answering the question if God is good, why is there evil and suffering. Topics include why is there evil and suffering, understanding the origin and consequences of evil, problems for non-theists regarding evil and suffering, evil and suffering in the redemptive work of Christ, human choice and evil, the two eternal solutions to the problem of evil (heaven and hell), how God uses evil and suffering, why God allows suffering, living meaningfully in suffering, and applications for preaching. Students will create visual projects and applications for transformational discipleship and leadership.
Diploma of Biblical Studies in Leadership (30 units)
The Diploma of Biblical Studies in Leadership is designed to prepare pastors, church planters, leaders and workers to effectively minister through the local church. The DBS curriculum focuses on leadership, Christian living, Bible survey, church growth, theology and ministry skills. The DBS consist of 15 courses.
Associate of Biblical Studies in Leadership (60 units)
The Associate of Biblical Studies in Leadership is designed to enhance ministry skills and biblical knowledge of Christian leaders. This degree emphasizes leadership, evangelism, teaching and communication skills needed for effective ministry. The ABS consists of 30 courses. Upon completion of the ABS, students may transfer 60 units into the Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies degree of Southern California Seminary or go on to the Bachelor of Biblical Studies in Leadership program of Equip Biblical Institute.
Bachelor of Biblical Studies in Leadership (130 units)
The Bachelor of Biblical Studies in Leadership is designed to enhance ministry skills and biblical knowledge of Christian leaders. This degree emphasizes the preaching, leadership, evangelism, teaching, and general education college level courses needed for effective ministry. The BBS consists of 65 courses and prepares students for the Master of Religious Studies in Leadership.
