This course focuses on understanding the panorama of the Bible. Topics include the structure of the Bible; the geography of the Bible; the story of the Old Testament; the story of the New Testament; and the great doctrines of the Bible, God, Christ, the Holy Spirit, angels, mankind, sin, salvation, the church, and future things. Students will create visual projects and applications for transformational discipleship and leadership.
112 Bible Interpretation (Instr.: TBA) Mondays, 7:00 p.m.
This course focuses on how to apply and teach the principles of proper Bible interpretation: the literal, grammatical, historical method is contrasted with the allegorical method of interpretation. Topics include symbols, figures of speech, types, and the relationship of interpretation to application. Students will create visual projects and applications for transformational discipleship and leadership.
109 New Testament Survey 1: Gospels & Acts (Instr.: TBA) 7:00 p.m.
This course focuses on how to apply and teach the Gospels and the Book of Acts, covering Matthew through Acts. Topics include the life and teachings of Jesus, teaching to change lives, charity, courage, expository text-driven preaching, faith, love, marriage, obedience, prophecy, the resurrection, suffering, theology, trust, virtue, worship, developing a biblical worldview, and character development. Deals with authorship, date, historical context, literary forms, themes, and applications. Students will create visual projects and applications for transformational discipleship and leadership.
